Nice pics.

Who did you get to take them for you? I'm trying to get my wife to take some "action" shots of my new Woods SS60 rear mount blower, but I can't seem to get her to take a step out into the cold.

The camera only has a 15 second self timer, so I don't think that's an option.

What I need is a 2 ft. snow storm with a 70 degree heat wave the next day./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Thanks for the pics.

Rick,
You really don't want a snowfall followed by a heat wave. We've had that a few times, (not quite as bad as you suggested though) and the runoff gets pretty bad!

Thanks for the pics, I'll give another vote for a cab/shelter, I began my snow blowing career with an open 62 Dexta, graduated to an open MF 230, but I never realized how cold and horrible my days were until my wife bought the present tractor that has a heated cab, with lotsa wipers and lights. The last 5 winters have been much nicer!! I take the discman a bag of beer and relax. Have a fun winter.

Thanks for the comments everyone! This is the first year we have been getting a lot of snow for me to really try everything out to the point of getting comfortable with everything. Last year we only had a few small storms. I love this setup and it works great.

Bill; I didn't buy chain tensioners. The dealer didn't think I would need them. The St Pierre chains fit great & I only have 2 extra links. I'm using the inside link, so only 1 link need to be tied back. I decided to use some bungee cords I had laying around anyway. I wove them in and out of the outside chain in a circle and it did tighten the chains a bit more. I've had no rubbing problems of any kind.

Rick; I was able to talk my wife into coming out and take the pics (had to remind her several times after each storm :>). I have relitives in Alabama and we mentioned getting the Kubota while on the phone. My uncle wanted to see the setup and couldn't quite imaging having that much snow.

So now that I get a handle on getting the driveway clean, the roof starts to leak! Bad ice dams this year. I just got in from using a snow rake to clear the eves. (Now if I could only figure out how to get the bota to do that chore :>!)

I have the exact same setup, a 2710 with the front mounted 63" Kubota blower. But I had to go with my homemade hydraulic chute rotator. I just cound not bring myself to pay the $800 that Kubota wanted. And in my case the hand operated rotator that came with the blower was a joke. It is made up of 2 pieces and they slip together with allen screws. The joint wound up flexing and breaking in no time. Now it is sooo nice to be able to just use the joystick left or right to direct the snow. I remember the bad old days of going up and down my STEEP 1/4 mile driveway with a walk behind snowblower, but that is another sad story for another time..... Be safe and enjoy the blower.....

Jason:

Yea a bit expensive. I believe that the electric chute rotate for my 50" was just under $ 300. A lot of money for what you got, in my opinion. I also picked up a genuine Kubota electric chute deflector kit on eBay for $ 100. That was a really expensive item from Kubota as I recall. The one I got was new and I believe from some unclaimed freight lot. The guy sold several of them over a period of time. It turned out to not be for my model, but for a bigger unit, perhaps like yours. After a bit of head scratching and a few new bolts, it fits and works just fine.

Hi Paul,

Now that sure is a colorful picture... what camera are you using?

It doesn't look like snow will come anytime soon in that great picture... /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
