I have a BB on the back with hydraulic top and tilt. I maintain the driveway and will start clearing and leveling a lower section of my property. I also have pallet forks and I made some simple pallets to move firewood.
I've only got about 20 hours on mine. I purchased in late fall so it's mainly been pushing snow.

I have a mile long - straight as an arrow - gravel driveway. I run around 1800 rpm with my rear blade. In high range this gets me down the driveway at around 6-7 mph.

Nice Larry. How many horses do you folks own? My wife just bought her first two in the last year. She is really enjoying having them! I just finished building the 36x54 horse barn in the late fall of 2016.

Down to two of our own and a neighbor boards hers here. Free board for help with the horses.
The wife did horse rescue for many years but her health has forced her to just enjoy riding her own now. There were times when we had up to 7 horses here...I'm glad I don't have to buck that much hay anymore!!!

Ok, going to sound spoiled... I don't pay attention to RPMs. I set the HST to hi and the stall guard to fast response and drive it like an automatic pickup.

I'm trying to get use to having the RPMs up higher on this thing. According to some other HST owners, and my owner's manual, the RPMs should be up higher. I'm use to my last glide shift transmission Kubota L35. I usually kept RPMs on that from 1500-2200. Didn't need it any higher. But with this HST it appears the norm should be above 2000 when working it and even higher while putting any heavy work load on it. It's odd to me though. It sounds like it is too high. But I have noticed a big power difference when I put the RPMs up to 2400 and start lifting or pushing. BEAST

Nice looking outfit dogpatch! How long have you had that? How do you like it? I've heard good things about the Yanmar engines.

I would never advise to use a rear blade for pushing anything.They are made to pull,very handy around tight areas.

I see. I've never used a rear blade for snow. We did use to have one on the back of my father's old 9N many moons ago. Good for leveling off.

If it's an HST and has a DPF run full throttle. Here's my take on it, the higher heat and flow help the DPF and the higher the RPM the less of an angle the swash plate is in the HST (less wear). Just what I have found with our machines and talking with people.
