Mahindra Emax 25L HST Cab
Hi, new to the forum and tractor word. I recently got a used Mahindra emax 25L HST Cab, I believe it's a 2020.

I purchased it mainly for snow removal. It came with a front mounted 56" blower.

My question is after the blower/pto is engaged what should I be running my engine rpms at. On the tractor pto selector beside the seat it says rear 540, mid/rear 2000,540 and mid 2000. I'm under the assumption that it is stating the pto rpm and not the engine rpm? On the RPM tack on the dash it shows 540 with an arrow at around i think 2300 engine RPM. The blower uses the mid 2000 pto selection. How do I know where my engine RPMs should be? Should it be past that 540 mark? As in over 2300 engine rpm?

Hopefully this makes sense and very much thankful for any help.

my max has 2 marks on the rpm gauge. one is 540 and one is for 2000. I would need a picture to confirm, but yes its towards the upper end of rpm gauge. you need to run the rpm at that level, to provide the rated HP for the pto

I will make an assumption since you only have one selector and it shows both 540/2000 , then the rpm is the same for both options. based on your photo. you need to run at 2500 rpms on the RPM gauge.

That makes sense, the only thing is for mid pto selection there's 2 options, there's to use the mid and rear at the same time which is the 540/2000 or just use the mid pto alone which is 2000. I'm guessing than that doesn't matter and like your suggesting it all just runs at the 540 (2500rpm) mark and should be good?

yep don't over think it, if you find it too powerful or too weak, just go up or down 200rpm, you will feel the difference, just try to engage the pto as low to idle as you can without stalling or severe shock etc.

my mahindra has separate controls for mid and rear, and as such has 2 different rpm markings, but again its like a 200rpm difference

Thank you very much for the help, I've been running it at 2000 engine rpm bc I kept seeing 2000 everywhere lol. But every time I blow the drive it's horribly slow, most likely bc sorely under powered. Hopefully I didn't wreck anything in the interm. Once again thanks greatly for the help and clearing it up.

no problem, 2000 is low, 2500 should see an improvement, although i doubt it will be double, these engines don't have as much hp as you think unfortunately

Didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, if I run the tractor anything above say 2200rpm (engine) it smokes me out. The amount of exhaust smoke that comes out fills the entire area as if the tractors in fire. So not sure if something else is wrong or maybe just hasent been ran like that in some time but tried to run it for awhile with pto engaged and without but didn't seem to get any better had to stop after awhile so I could breath haha. It doesn't sound to good either.
