Pulled the old chain, and based on the manual chain length it was almost 1.5" too long...
Moved the tensioner all the way to the top as high as it would go and went to install the new chain... Considering one is limited to breaking the chain in 2 link intervals, the new chain was either too long (although shorter than old chain) (when installed w connecting link and tensioner slid back down) it would still hit the metal in the chain slot barely... Or way to short...
Ran to TSC and got a pack of offset links... installed one and couldn't make it fit the connecting link (ei chain was a smidge too sort)
so, ended up cutting out the 1" piece of metal in the chain slot (someone chimed in in the kubota forum their 70" blower has one large slot)
Pulled the offset link, added the 2 links back , then the connecting link and slid the tensioner back in place...
Everything in place, chain isn't making contact anywhere.... and test drove it.... almost immediately blew the connecting link... Not sure if it was my mistake, (pretty sure the link plate and locking key was tight) the tensioner was slightly loose and chain made slight contact w bottom of chain slot, so might have knocked it loose...
Reinstalled chain, made sure tensioner was inplace and tightly secured. ran the blower... no issues... Only 2 inchs of snow here so not much to test it with... but ran the blower and rocked the machine etc...chain stayed tight and no issues... I still have the old chain if I need to go back to it...
Thanks for the help
