snowblower on my 425 does not throw snow very well

The Ford 1700 only had 25 hp. Not enough UMPH to blow really wet snow. The snow would freeze up in the fan and then in the discharge chute. The shear pin would break. This was the message - "wait for a colder day". Take everything back to the barn - clear all the buildup - install a new shear pin.

NO WAY am I going to clear a mile long driveway with the bucket on the FEL. I'm retired - I can wait.

Besides - the way our weather has been the last few years. In a couple days, it's likely, all the snow will be melted anyhow.

I used to have a similar tractor and blower. No, they do not throw snow all that far. On my 10' driveway it would only throw the snow half way to the edge (maybe 3/4 on a good day). When there wasn't much snow I would do the whole thing when I got about half way I would be moving original snow plus the snow from the first half. When the snow was deep I had to clear the leeward side first and then clear the other side and eventually clear the first side again.

if the snow was extremely wet I would only blow just to the side of were I was driving. those times were a real pain because I'd have to slowing move the slush over a little at a time.

Even on the best days it would take me hours to clear my 150' driveway. A blower on a lawn tractor is OK for small driveways, this is why I got something bigger.
