Page2,

The 2X's extend about three inches below the lip of the FEL. I did that to keep the pressure applied to the center of the bottom 2X. That three inches can help if you want to back drag a little like say away from a structure.

I do use the float feature all of the time on this pusher. Down pressure isn't really needed for such a light duty situation and by floating it the blade automatically falls off of edges of concrete/asphalt and skids over grass.

It's handy for crumbing those little ridges of snow and pushing the tops of snow piles farther away. Not made for any type of momentum snow removal. (Disclaimer..Ha!)
Thanks! Think I'll try something like that and see how it works out.

Seymourbota- who manufactures the snow plow you have and what is the cost? Thanks.
It's a Snowsport- full size- used on my B2410.

They do make smaller models, which might be a better fit for the BX.

A full size is about $1,100

We took an old sears 32" plow and made a mount that slips about 2" into the bucket. We cut out a 61" piece of steel off of an old Diesel tank. We bolted it on and voila, we've got a 61" snow plow. Pretty durable although theres no springs.

I built this plow for my 2660 from an old 90" Meyers, Cut it down to 67", and replaced the skin with 1/4" HDPE plastic. Made a mount to bolt to the front of the frame so it only takes 1 pin to connect the plow. I use the FEL to lift it and the bucket hydraulics to swing it. This is the third one of these I've built. The first was for my old BX2200 the buyer insisted that I sell him the plow with the tractor or no deal. The second one was built from a 9' Western for the 2660. Worked great but I found the Meyers and it was one of those why not moments. Any way the reason I like it this way is the FEL on a BX size machine can't handle the weight of a big plow attached to the bucket and it sticks out way to far. One pin, hook the lift chain and two hose connections and it痴 ready to plow with. I have a bout $560.00 in this one but it can be done for less.
Plow $50.00
Sandblasting $100.00
Paint $20.00
Plastic $ 109.18
Rams $178.36
Shipping $15.73
Hyd hose's $62.06
Misc. $25.00
$560.33

Here is what I rigged up for my B7610 and it works great...I bought a UTV plow for around $400 plus and then fabricated the mount.

Heres some shots of SamMacs 9ft Western set up

And in action

I had a FEL mounted one for a year or so. Way too heavy out front. This design keeps the weight back on tractor. I keep my trip springs a little on the loose side which keeps me from damaging the tractor frame if I hit the snow banks too hard.

I was thinking of adapting a hydraulic lift to the front so the plow could be operated with or without the FEL attached.

I'll try to take some pics of my setup. I built a front bumper with a 2" hitch receiver tube "nice and low". Last year, I modified an old Snowbear brand plow (cheap, lightweight, sold at Lowes, Home Depot, etc) that was previously on a small pickukp. Welded a piece of 2"x2" box tubing (hitch material) to the plow for mounting. I thought it would be a little weak and I would end up replacing after the 1st snow. We barely got any snow last year, but this year I've used it to plow our 3 big snows (2' twice and 16" the third) and haven't had a problem.

I welded a chain hook on the back side of the FEL bucket to lift and use a pin for angle.

The lightweight snowbear plow is a perfect fit for my little 1830.
