I was wondering if anyone has a snowplow set up on the arms of their FEL? I don't have a quick attach bucket, would it be possible to remove the bucket and attach a snow plow. I would think plowing is much faster then using your bucket to remove snow.

Several TBNer's have a blade mounted on their FEL. Mine is a Curtis . Here is a picture of it. Click Here I use a Kubota Quick Coupler on my FEL to make it easy to change attachments on the FEL. If you look at my picture a hole can be seen below the upper mounting pin. That hole is the original hole in the Curtis blade.
Here is another thread where a TBNer mounted a blade on his FEL. Click here
Others have mounted a truck type snowplow to a FEL bucket.
Depending on how much snow you are moving the bucket can do a good job. I plow a 1/4 mile road that would take forever with the bucket. But only take about 1/2 hour with my blade.

Thanks for the advice; I like the Curtis plow you have. Is it power angled or manually angled?

Now that is the cat's meow! A power angle quick blade on the front; awesome! We had a 30" snow storm right before Christmas last year and I found that my "medium duty" Woods 84" rear blade was okay, but for deep drifts, I had to lower the bucket and push some out of the way to get traction and use the rear blade to angle what was left under the tractor. With T&T I was able to control the "bite" of the rear blade which allowed me to plow gravel lanes without digging up gravel. I ended up buying a much heavier 96" rear blade a month or so for future use. It weighs around 1250 pounds. Still, I have to drive over the snow first.

Since I don't have a graple on my LA853 loader (but I do have they quick detach), how expensive would a power angle Curtis blade like yours run; if you don't mind telling. Until I can come up with a spare 70K, I'll have a rather long gravel driveway to still clear each winter. I've concreted about 20% of it, but I'm a few bucks short on finishing it right now. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I'm just thinking with a plow setup like you have and my cab, it wouldn't be bad at all clearing snow. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have a 6 foot Curtis power angle mounted on the FEL of a B3030 with the Kubota quick attach. The power angle is driven from the rear remote. The hoses run up along the loader arms. I added a second set of quick disconnects at the front of the tractor for the power angle to allow the plow to be dropped off and not have to remove the lines to the rear remote. I chose the 6 foot because it was wide enough to clear the 54 inch tractor width at the 30 deg. angle. I plow about 1/2 mile of sidewalk and didn't want the plow any wider. The cost of the Curtis has risen steadily. First one I bought in 95 or 96 was $1200. The new plow was $2250 - plow, mount bracket, hoses to rear remote, assembly, welding and paint after welding. More than I had planed to spend.

I wonder if any mfg. have the new plow design that bends in the middle to form a V. That would have been nice to do the sidewalks.

I'll provide pics of any of this that is of interest to you. I love the Fall weather but when will we see the first snow /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

All the Power-Trac brand tractors have front mounted implements. The power angle snow plow on our FEL arms is GREAT! Makes snow plowing a snap and even the smallest units can pile it 6' high.

There are quite a few threads on TBN regarding fitting a plow to the FEL arms of a standard tractor. It is a truly worth-while project. Do it if you can.

I have a 6.5 ft power angle Curtis which replaces my front bucket on my 2410. It's heavy and quite a handful for the tractor. Changeover from blade to bucket is not as easy as it might seem- unless you can accomplish it indoors on a flat floor.
What works great for me is a Snowsport blade, which mounts to a 2" receiver hitch. With a Step N Tow hitch mounted upside down in the bucket, I can pull a pin and back away from the blade in a minute. I remove the receiver hitch in the summer- 4 grade 8 bolts.
I'll sell you my Curtis!!!
