I prefer to field dress them flat on their backs. Typically, I'll field dress them out in the pasture before I throw them in the bed of the truck. I prefer to have them hoisted for skinning and processing though.

I'm too old to do much hunting anymore but my youngest son went into Wyoming territory in 2013 and came back with this elk. Not the biggest but his first and the meat is better than any beef or deer I ever ate. And I'm sure it should taste good for what he paid for that excursion.

I sure don't want to bring politics in to this credible thread but when I see or talk to my congressman there are 2 laws I would love to see passed and they are not near as far fetched as some we already have. #1 leave the celebration of Christ birth alone Dec 24 but change the gift giving thing up to jan 25 so it does not interfere with my deer hunting.#2 it shall be unlawful to ask any employ to work over time from oct 1st to jan 10th. ok what do you think that not asking to much is it.

We have only run hare around here and north....cottontails are south of us
