Soap- where's the poision ivy thread

where one of you recommend some expensive soap for after you think you've been in poision ivy? I've looked back through the threads but can't find it......

I remember him saying it was about $40.....

Tecnu I think is what your looking for. Eckerds and Rite Aid has it here.

Tecnu extreme is even better. I get it at Walgreens. about $14 for a squeeze tube that lasts at least 1/2 of the summer. Best if you use it with cold water right away, within 4 hrs or so, but even helps to dry it out once it blooms.

Cold water is really key here since it helps close the pores of your skin while you wash the oils off.

Dish soap works well too. Key is strong soap that strips the oil.

Fels Naptha for me. Couple of bucks max.

Mechanics hand cleaner and a white scrub pad. Scrub the effected area until raw to remove the top layer of skin that the oil is attached to. This will limit the allergic reaction to the blisters you already have, and and it will clear up about 3x faster.

After you get it... Zanfel scrub works wonders for me.

I spent all afternoon today clearing Poison Oak!

Every time I've ever had poison ivy or oak, and went to the doctor for shot and scripts it lasted about 7 days. Tried most of the home cures and it lasted for about a week.
