That's just a cultivator. You can buy them for peanuts at farm sales.

Is this attachment's primary use as a substitute for a plow, or is it used to cultivate between rows of an established crop? How deep will it go?

I think they're trying to use it as a "catch all" tool but really it would only be good for some light soil work like cultivating does. With those tines it's not going to go down in hard packed soil much. I doubt it would function very well at all to use as a "plow".

Did that once Cowboydoc. Bought a 12 ft pull behind chisel plow, took it apart, built a 3 PT six foot unit for my tractor, and sold the rest for scrap......

Easy to do, don't be afraid to buy something like that. Almost always sells cheaper than a six foot one would!

Looks to me like a cultivator frame that would be used to control grass/weeds in the middles of your row and maybe with larger sweeps to throw soil to the plant if needed.

Like Cowboydoc said it's just a cultivator. I bought an old cultivator at a farm auction, and I use it after I plow my garden with a two bottom plow. The combination makes the soil nice and smooth. The two implements cost me a whole lot less than a 3ph rototiller would have. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As someone echoed, it's a hopped up culitvator and you can pick those up under $199 NEW at TSC.
Notice the pics? It looks to me they are in a freshly tilled/disced garden.
The Soi Savage looks great, I priced them last year and the price has been cut in half! Still over priced for a culitvator.
