Solar Battery Maintainer, AKA: Tender Recommendation

I have the 7.5 watt version of this one:

So far, so good. I did buy some nice eyelets to keep on the battery with a plug.


I went a step above and did this:

I just use a plug in cheapy Harbor Freight tender on both my RV battery and my riding mower battery. Not solar though, sorry.

How about just installing a battery disconnect switch to the battery terminal to stop the parasitic drain?

Or a simple SPST switch on the positive wire to the "wireless dump control unit"? Cheaper than A battery Disconnect switch/device. Occam's Razor

Can they stay attached indefinitely?

I had the same question - using the HFT units (now discontinued BTW). My idea was to power it through a timer so it only charged for a portion of the day. But I was worried that, connected and 'off' it would discharge the battery.
