They do have one grid tied inverter that provides a single 12 amp outlet that will work if the grid is down and the sun is out in ideal conditions.

Enough to keep a tv, phones, laptop or even a small refrigerator per the manufacturer.

So I am not quite clear on this. You pay $65/mo plus $824/yr (based on installed size ?) ?

I am not sure what the advantage is. I currently pay $ 0.12/kwh (loaded cost) from my utility. Your costs would only save $ 0.02/kwh. Am I right on this ?

My new Solarcity electric bill is $65.41/month for a yearly total of $784.92.
When I did the cost comparisons I used 8000/kw/year as my average consumption to illustrate the savings based on my new cost/kwh of $0.103 versus $0.175 that痴 where the $824 came from.
You are correct on your savings of only $0.02/kwh, but calling them for a quote may surprise all of us!
They need to save you money in order to make a sale and as was said earlier in this post they get all the incentives which I would bet covers their cost of materials & possibly installation also.
If they quoted you a fixed rate of $0.11/kwh for 20 years would you be interested??
I壇 like to see their response.
They use Google Earth for the initial survey of your house and orientation.
If it is a suitable they will ask for previous electric bills to size a system.

Nothing ventured, Nothing gained!
