I have a Gleason make Lapping machine. i am facing the problem of Solenoid valve getting jammed frequently. I had dismantelled each and every valve and flushed the complete system with low viscocity oil. but the vave getting jammed has not been solved. i have replaced most of the valves with a new valve of the same configuration. but this do not help. what i have observed if i operate the valve manually i.e buy manual cycle with the help of push button they do not get jammed. but if i run autocycle of the machine after some cycle the valves get jammed.
every time a valve gets jammed it on the energised portion not in the center position.
the valve used is 2 position single solenoid valve, 3 position doubel solenoid valve.
please any one can help me out of this.

Have you taken the spool out of the valve and looked at it with a magnifier glass, and also looked in the valve body for a bur, trash, corrosion, piece of rubber, etc. Has the spool been dropped? Rub your fingers over the spool and feel for anything abnormal. Does it use o-rings? Is the solenoid getting full voltage. The solenoid simply moves the spool across opening in the body of the valve. If it jams, then something is interfering with the sliding action.

Welcome to TBN.

First, we have to assume that your new valves are all good. Assuming that, look at what holds your valves open, voltage. Check your voltage to the coils. Possibly you have a relay sticking? Could be some stray voltage being induced into the system somehow? If all your voltages are good, possibly your fluid is contaminated and particulates are holding the valve open. Are all other hydraulic circuits operating normally?
Here's how I would proceed. Check the voltage, make certain they are exactly what they are supposed to be. If all is good there, pull the valve. Note the fluid condition around it. Does the inside of the valve move smoothly? Can you apply voltage outside of the circuit and check it's operation? Please post a little more about the entire machine.

Good luck,
Andy

Which solenoid valve is jamming, the single or the double? On a lot of the single solenoid valve, the seats are a ball or poppet, and some are pilot operated. Some of the solenoid valves are proportional valves, meaning small precision movements, like a throttle control. Did you say you had applied external voltage with a push button? In an automatic operation, the voltage might not be there long enough to pull or push the plunger. Connect a volt meter to the circuit and monitor for the full operation, and see if the voltage is maintained.
