It an old Sandvik 3081 from 1981, maybe sold in the US as Norse 3081

Yes, it has worked well but it has been used quite hard in commercial logging so it has a lot of battle scars.
They have ripped out the whole winch drum so its welded back and reinforced.
i think tjey have been dragging loggs by the wire at relative high speed and then a log has got stuck.

Gave 600$ for it with a almost new PTO axel, ready to use.

I'd say that's a pretty good price! I gave $3600 for my wallenstein almost 5 yrs ago.

My pulse quickens whenever I read "logging winch".
Nice photos, and as dbaer78 noted - it's a stout looking machine.
$600 for that - well, I would be very proud of such a deal.
Nobody in my area will sell a used winch, so I will have to buy a new one or make my own.
