yea if you hit something hard enough to bend the body or frame if you wanna call it that on a rtv then you are going to be in the hospital a long time. i one of them old dodge cars my buddy had back in the day he wrecked the whole front end was wiped out they needed a new engine and most of the front replaced but the unibody was not bent at all. they took it to a shop and put it on some kinda jig to test it to see if it had twisted or not but it was good to go and that was a colision at over 45mph with a oncoming car doing the same so you can add to the 45 mph. now the rtv only does 25mph 30 at the most so the most damage i think you will do to it is bend the front bumper and if your not wearing your seat belt you will kiss the wind shield. i wouldn't worry about the unibody unless your gonna be jumping hills at 50mph with a load in the bed.

my neighbors wife was driving their rtv900 around the farm when she had a seizure, passed out and hit the barn at full throttle in medium range.she went completely thru the glass windshield and thru the whole in the wall that the rtv made. had to be life flighted to the hospital. she has since recovered. the only damage to the rtv was a bent bumper , broken windshield and a few scratches. no body or frame damage.the barn is a well made 300 foot long commercial horse barn. that rtv sure passed the toughness test.

So if you saw it.... really... take your orange hat off now.....

What was your first thought?

When I first saw the RTV 900 I thought it was too big for my needs.

We bought one shortly after getting information on all the UTVs at that time.

well we now have both a prototype and a production unit in the shop......

I have not had the opportunity to drive the 500 yet nor even hear it running. Only have laid eyeballs on it to date. My initial thoughts on it are that it will certainly serve the needs of some people. From afar one would easily think it is a 900....only when you walk up on it do you realize that there is a size difference. The bed being the most noticeable area of reduced size.

The 900 is a workhorse.....the 500 is a light duty vehicle. Something to move about a smaller property and do light work.

The 900/1100 is a leatherman......whereas the 500 is that handy pocket knife.

2" rear receiver was noticed and I am told that the entire line will be moving in that direction.

Cold/wet weather should not be an issue in using this machine.

As far as production goes see the first line of this post......no details that I can share of when you might see it on a dealer lot.

I also spotted a couple of new accessory 'tools' for the 900/1100.....

I just bought an RTV500..Waiting for the snow plow to show up, it's on backorder. Not the fastest thing around. Goes about 25 in high range, runs out of nads quick in high range, but low range seems fine for general use. Goes up steep hills like a billy goat. Quietest thing I've ever owned, can carry on a conversation at full throttle. Hope it has enough power to push snow, have to wait & see on that one. Seems to be very well built and very solid.
Only compaint so far-Accessory prices are insane, 3k for a solid cab enclosure, you have got to be kidding me.

Needs to come with a speedo & dash gas guage standard, minor issue there I guess.

This was much cheaper than any name brand that I looked at, so I took the chance..

My BX23 has been perfect for 4 years, I hope the same with this.

Welcome to the site! Glad to here you bought one, now, you need to post some pictures! It's all useless without them! Good luck with the snow plow!
