When an ice storm hit where i was then living i quickly needed a chainsaw, that was thirteen years ago and the only chainsaw i found and was lucky to find it was a PoulanPro.
Only needed it a few times and it sat in garage for years unused, this past summer i started using it again for bush removal, i was thinking maybe it's time to clean the fuel filter removed the cap and just tuched to filter and the tubbing snapped off and the tubbing go through the fuel tank wall, to fix it one must split the fuel tank and it's not a simple project.
What caused the to tubbing to harden and crack was back years ago all you could get of Ethanol fuel no real gas and the Alcohol in it will harden rubber over time.
So i would have been better off just forgetting cleaning the fuel filter as the PoulanPro was working good.
Checked a repair shop and was told it was a four hour job, and thier shop rate was $95 an hour told me it was cheaper to just buy another PoulanPro as their just around $154 today.
So i decided to get a new small chainsaw and picked a STIHLl MS211, it's small and a lot less weight then the PoulanPro, and being 82 i can last a lot longer with my cutting.
I ended up spending more for the STIHL but so far it's been doing the job with my debushing projects, being new it's a little slow at starting think after using it longer it should start quicker.
