Somebody STOP ME!

I did it again! Last December, I sold an old 3000 Ford gasser that I've owned since new in 1974. It was tired. It needed an engine overhaul, clutch, hydraulic work, paint, tires, seat, fenders, and a radiator.

I took off the Kelly loader, and planned on re-fitting it to my 150 Massey.

After work today, I went to look at a collection of Massey Ferguson tractors I'm trying to buy. Along the way, I spotted a nice 1973 Ford 3000 diesel. It is in pristine condition. A "for sale" sign made me slam on the brakes. $4900 later, it's mine!

No pictures yet, no camera with me at the time. Planning on going back Saturday morning to haul it home! It'll get the loader from the old 3000.

Back to being a 3-brand tractor owner again!

Wish I had that luck! Come on tractors is in your blood. You need more than one, it is after all chore specific.

Whats good about that Kelly loader? Never seen one of them. Can't you find a 730 Series Ford loader? I believe that is the one designed to fit that tractor from the factory. I have been looking all over for a serviceable 735 Series for my 4000 Series Ford....it's like they never existed. All I could find was 730 Series loaders...ended up buying one that is in new condition for $1200 (just couldn't pass up the price). It was on a tractor when it was sold new, the owner took it off for some reason and it never got put back on again ...for 30 years! Now I need a 3000 Series Ford 3 cyl to put it on!

What's good is I already OWN it. It was a gravity dump bucket once upon a time. I've added bucket cylinders, rigged a quick-attach to it, and made a nice set of forks. The forks spend more time on there than the bucket. Gettin' old and soft. Gotta have something to pick up heavy stuff with.

I'd jump at the chance to get a good "factory loader" for the 3000 or the 150, but it has to be cheap. (like me?)

Just sell everything and start over... wouldn't it be nice to start fresh with new land, new house, new gear, and a fat bank account?

Just keep all the experience you have...

There's a nice big ole JD sitting just down the street that I've had my eye on now for months. It hasn't sold so far, and I'm thinking the owner is getting ready to take a good price. I don't know much about it yet, I just see it from the road, but it's a nice looking tractor, wide stance, big tires.

Should I ask you guys to stop me? I've been doing a pretty good job of not doing it so far, but every day I feel a little weaker. I hear it calling me right now!
