Another thought, is that the new tractor owner has been "looking", and the wife knows just how bad he wants a tractor. Has nothing to do if he "needs" one or not. He goes on the tractor forum and asks the question "Which tractor should I buy". The wife sees that, and also talks to his best friend who went with him when he went to the local tractor dealer. She finds out that he has the hots for a XXX tractor and the color is XXX. So she does her own research, even posts on the tractor forum, "What is a good price for XXX."
She gets her answers, goes to the bank and withdraws the money from her Christmas account and goes down and pays for the tractor. The tractor owner has absolutely no idea how much money she has in her Christmas account, and she knows that. So... she wants it to be a total surprise, so she inquires about "maybe" getting it delivered on Christmas Day. Since she knows nothing about delivering a tractor, she doesn't realize that is takes a person taking time away from their family on Christmas Day, but the Dealer realizes this and explains to her the amount of work, and the fact that they are closed. However, he sees the sadness come into her face, as she realizes what she has asked, and decides that putting money on his table with the sale (since the dealer's wife spend TOO much money on THEIR CHRISTMAS) and making the new customer with this sale sure would be nice. Plus getting out of some of the "honey do's" on Christmas morning might not be so bad. (who wouldn't rather deliver a tractor than take out the trash? Anyway, the deal goes forward, and the next thing we have is a new tractor forum member, after he has a few days to play on it, and the first time something breaks.
Nice wife, nice dealer, new tractor, it all works out.
