I come from very frugal parents and grandparents… maybe too much so as I was getting a pay check at age 12 and never looked back… working my way through university on a pay as you go approach.

Looking back maybe I should have been a little more on the fun/frivolous side… especially when friends were calling and I would say can’t… working.

I heard a few of the neighbors commenting to the folks I worked too much in my teen years…

Maybe my frivolous period is ahead?
Well, I myself, my siblings came from parents who's moto was, '' If you can make (afford) the payment, buy it'' mentality. It doesn't matter what the interest rate is.

It was very hard for me to over come this mentality.
Many don't know, I quit school at the ripe old age of 15 to go to work, to help pay the bills due to my parents being bankrupt .

At the ripe old age of 22. I was able to start an HVAC / Plumbing / Gas... business !
I can't say I'm blessed, as I'm a non believer.
But, in my world, I've made it ok !

You reminded me that I have experienced something quite different from most people. I not only helped both my kids to buy a house, I helped my parents. In 1960, my brother and I each leant mom and dad $1000.00 that we had saved from delivering newspapers. I was thirteen and he was eleven. My dad was eight or nine when he quit school to stay home and look after the house while my grandmother was in the hospital for more than a year.

I'd like a Deere 5 series tractor with an IVT transmission. Maybe some day Deere will make one.

The tractor tarp shed was to be a 3 year ordeal. covid hit, supply chain busted, inflation took off and wages in food and retail jumped to 15/hr min, yet places are paying $20 to $24 to retain people.

So my trap shed is rages now and I want to go to riches with a 20FT sea shipping container.

5 years ago it looked great and worked very well. The deep freezes to -22F, harsh winds to 90mph, and blistering 106F summers have taken it's toll.
I hear ya, I've been making do with something similar myself for the last 15+ years. Get maybe 3 years out of a tarp before the UV gets to it. I do make a point of keeping the snow cleared off it, had a second one collapse after a late season "heart attack" snowstorm a couple years ago.
Would love to have one of those shipping container sheds myself, but even if I could get the approval of the chief aesthetics officer, not sure there'd be a way to physically get one where I'd want it due to terrain.

That was sort of the point! Only trouble is, bring a girl like that home, and you'll never get to play with your own chainsaws again. :p
I already lost my saws to my wife. She loves burning up 2 stroke. She won't touch my 36" echo cuz of its size so I still have 1 saw.

But do you know how many guys have had four different wives?
Probably way too many!
I know two was enough for me
I know some who have 4 different wives all at the same time! And still do! :D One is the legal on paper wife. I would be in the poor house or dead by now if this were to happen. :sneaky:

To me that is shear stupidity, no one needs that much pain!

Did you also check out New Holland?
Went to Farm Show about 3 years ago and they had a smallish (~100HP) with their “new” CVT transmission in it. Was supposed to be mucho improved over previous.

I want a new pancreas,
In lieu of that a separate shop would be nice.

Putting the kid through college nixing any shop or new (used) truck for a while though.

Smallest they offer is 12,000 lbs, 98" wheel base, and 130hp. That's even bigger than the Deere 6120M. But thanks, non the less.
