Critters nibbling on the hoses?

LOL, ya know, if those lines had maple syrup flowin' through 'em, that'd make sense!! The only other thing that would seem to have any logic to it is sabotage. A UDT drinking mouse; boy what a mutant it'd have to be to survive that. Sheeze, scarey thought!!

Furry rodents was my first thought, too.

On the cost to repair - $1700 for a rebuilt HST INSTALLED. That doesn't seem too bad. I mean it's probably an 8 hour job to split the tractors so about 1/2 of that is labor. Putting the HST cost in the 800-1200 range.

If you did it yourself and just replaced the internal pump parts, it would probably be in the 300 range. Pure guess, but probably close enough as they say.

Sounds like a good deal to me to. Can't believe they leave that filter (spin on?0 that exposed!!

Well, just got the word. BX is ready to go. Damage: $435. 3 hydro lines were broken, 1 to the FEL and 2 to the power steering. Fortunately no tranny damage. Svc. Mgr. said he'd explain more when I got there.

Regular fluid on the third change.
MMM shaft came loose and tore open the filter down there, of course resulting in the loss of all the fluid (didn't notice all the fluid behind me and kept trying to get it back to the garage to take a look at it after the clunking PTO noise till the machine wouldn't move anymore)
Not shutting down when seeing or smelling fluid. (pinhole in the FEL line, leaking quick disconnect)
Continually maxing out the tractor when using the FEL to dig a ditch along the property.
Pulling my huge lawn roller in high gear, stopping so suddenly that it bent the roller connect up in a "V" shape.
Using the grader box on sod at full speed low, after three hours of stump digging. (that's what finally did it)

DANG! I am amazed how much abuse it took to stop the machine!!

I mean, sorry for your troubles, but that is actually kind of reassuring. :)

You PRV thread pirates can overload your dump cylinder with the valves closed, but only when the dump cylinder pivot is way over the bucket pivot. Dump your bucket and look at the angle. That's why every loader manual says don't push stuff with the bucket in dump position.

(At least I read it there after popping a line)

Glad to hear it was on the reasonable side of the divide.

Watch them lines!

Well, I picked up the BX2200 this afternoon. Svc mgr showed me the bad hoses. They were 7 years old and had simply become hard. There were times over the years when I brush hogged in 114 to 115 degree heat; don't know if that contributed to anything or not. Still pretty amazing that 3 hoses ruptured at the same time. Cost was $435. I spent a fair amount of time looking at a BX24, a B2630, and Woods BH70X and BH80X. Though I'd prefer a B3030 over a B2630, this unit has sat on the lot for a year and he said he'd sell it for $16,800 as opposed to list, which he said was about $3k more.

I doub't the 115' heat did much concerning the heat hyd oil can get to under normal use.

I'm also not impressed that the hoses ONLY lasted 7 ys.

If I only got 7ys out of hoses.. my antiques would be a pain inthe but ( and wallet ).

Wow, $425. That was ridiculous for three hoses even if they did provide labor to replace them.

Afternoon Jerry,
Boy I would have to agree with that statement ! I replaced one of my hyd hoses on my loader, total bill with hydraulic fluid was about $45, granted I did the work myself but $425 is crazy !
