I am planning on fabricating a 72" Land Plane and need the 2 wear bars/blades. King cutter has them for $139 ea but they want $132 to ship them ea,buy two and the shipping is $264 and so on!
They have some available through Digger supply for about $450 a set. Again AgriSupply has them for $139 but shipping for 2 is $167. You guys in the south east could pick them up at the store I guess.
I'm in Wisconsin so if anybody knows of a source near me where I could pick them up please let me know.
There is a place called Behlin Country that has them. $99 plus $29 shipping. The only thing is they are only 3/8" at the thickest point. All of the 6' Behlin Country 3 point attachments use this so it must work.Who knows how it holds up to hitting rocks and such.I would be using the Land plane for gravel drives so hopefully most large rocks will have already been dealt with.
It looks like the 1/2" version weighs 58lbs and the 3/8" version is 39lbs. so it can be shipped by UPS as opposed to needing a trucking company. I ordered 1 to see what it looks like and I will use it maybe for the rear blade or just pushing snow. I noticed when you order 2 the shipping goes up to $160! So you have to buy them 1 at a time or the shipping kills you.

I have attached a picture to show how they look side by side. Again any help thanks in advance!

Look at a machinery dealer.
I bought grader blade c/e but even a good snowplow wear edge will work.
Ask the guy for a common, widely used bolt pattern so in the event that you actually wear them out you don't end up on a wild goose chase.
You'll probably have to cut them down and that might mean that you have to cut both sides to center the bolts on the support.
Start at a bobcat type dealership and if they only sell brand specific, ask them where to go.

How is the pricing at these places? Price is the the problem. It should be about $150 to be a fair price.

Rusty Iron has it right. Cat & Deere sell graders. You might consider a 12 foot grader blade and cut it in half. (Depending on cost)

You might even check on E-bay... there are a few sellers there too.

I would contact Tractor Attachments And Skid Steer Attachments For Any Tractor Or Skid Steer

They ship free to a local FedEx terminal. I have bought from them and they are easy to work with.

If I lived in Denton,NC I would just go to the AgriStore. :)

Everything Attachments adds the shipping cost into their initial price ,they don't ship free, nor should they.

What is the opinion on the blade from Behlin Country....do you think it would hold up if mounted to a 5/16"x4"x4" angle ?

I will try a CAT dealer.A person on you tube who was building a grader of some sort said he got a blade for around $100 but that was a few years ago.

Just throwing this out there, is there a snowplow shop that you'd be able to get used plow edges from close by? Might be able to haul them away free of charge.

As you build your land plane consider blade wear. My Road Boss LP has the blades mounted on an angle. The angle is mounted in slots that allow downward movement to compensate for blade wear.

You can look on vevor.com.

DTLS - you mentioned 3/8" cutting edges. When I first built my LPGS I found some new 3/8" edges used on a light duty LandPride rear blade. I had to replace them after 4 years of use on my gravel drive/road. That was in 2014. I replaced them with standard 1/2" cutting edges and after 9 years they are still good and I haven't flipped them over yet. So IMO the 1/2"ers are worth the extra money.

New and old edges from 2014.
