The wiper arm on my cab was a casualty of the heavy snow storm on the weekend so now I need to replace it. None of the local auto parts/ truck parts/ tractor parts supply houses have anything. Does anyone know of a source for pantograph wiper arms (the type that moves the blade in a parallel path rather than radial)? I am tryiing to replace a 16" Dyna pantograph wiper arm (dry) that fits onto a 0.54 in splined drum drive and has 0.25 in. ball studs for the parallel arm.

Sounds like the ones they use on busses and motor homes and big trucks

I'm not positive, but I think that is the style Caterpillar uses on their cab model skid steers. If you have a CAT dealer near you might want to try them. I think the last one I replaced was about $70.00.

Sincerely, Dirt

Thanks for the various suggestions. I ended up with a few sources and chose to buy from Cleveland Ignition. I will pick them up tomorrow. Other sources included school bus parts suppliers, marine suppiers and Sims Cabs. Prices ranged from $25 to $75 for the same item!

I drove to Cleveland yesterday and picked up the wiper arms - good drive, no hassles. I bought a second one as a spare. They were at the pick-up desk when I got there.

A lesson to be learned from this is that when using wipers in heavy snow and there is a build up of snow on the windshield to clear the windshield before the build up gets too heavy and damages some part of the wiper mechanism.
