I'm guessing he wasn't using the tow bar. I don't know about the part where he "gunned the tractor".

MERIDIAN, Miss. -- A 71-year-old Lauderdale County man has died of injuries suffered when his farm tractor flipped over and landed on him.
County Coroner Clayton Cobler says Sherman Hardy Jr. died Tuesday at the scene of the accident behind his home.
Cobler says Hardy had attached a chain to a tree he'd cut down. When Hardy apparently gunned the tractor, Cobler says the tree snagged on another stump causing the tractor to flip over on top of Hardy before he could apply the brakes.
