Another supplier we have had good luck with is McMaster-Carr. Look them up on the web... phone call or online orders... super fast shipping of every imaginable hardware item you can think of... catalog is about 3" thick of rice-paper thin pages. Worth a shot... might have the taper head bolt you were first looking for or studs and tapered nuts. Myself, I would prefer studs. Gives something to slide the wheel over instaid of holding a loaded tire/wheel in line with that hole that is never quite lined up.

McMaster-Carr, MSC and granger are all good sources for things. I have used them all. MSC is just closest to me when I need something they are right there on my way to work so there is no waiting for the item unless they have to order it.

I want to express my appreciation to all who have, and are replying to this thread. It can be a PITA sometimes to do some of the things we want, especially when we aren't aware of some of the many online sources that are available. I will check with these places this coming week. Thanks again guys, and keep any additional ideas coming.:)

Just wanted top update this thread. I bought some grade 10.9 bolts of the correct size and tread pitch, and some correct tapered lug nuts. I installed the bolts from the back side of the axle flange and torqued them to the specs listed for my original lug bolts. I also used blue lock-tite on the part of the thread that is in the axle flange. I then torqued the lug nuts to the same specs. The wheels/tires are 1" wider farther out on each side to the outer sidewall than the original R4's. The inside edge of the fronts line up nicely with the inside edge of the rears, which is nice for pulling a plow when the wheels are in the furrow. I will be checking the torque regularly for a while until the lug nuts take a permanent set, especially since the rims were NOS with paint still in the taper where the nuts seat. I got to use the new R1's today while pulling my subsoiler in a neighbors garden that has developed a pretty good plow pan over the years. I was able to pull it full depth. It is one of the TSC full sized SS's.

To be honest though, I have never felt unstable on it. That was not my reason for the using these wheels/tires. It is just something I have to accept (or benefit from) due to the rims offset that came with the tires. I made the swap solely because I prefer the R1's. Loaded with RG, they make this little tractor pull like a much bigger machine.
