I was hoping that someone could ID the spare electrical connections shown in the pics before I have to trace them out.

JD 4310, 2003.
The first two are on the left side when facing the rear, adjacent to the upper tph arm.
The second two are of a plug on the right side facing from the rear.

The last two are of one female connector above the clutch.

I'm looking to attach lights to shine on the void when the snowplow is up.

Thanks in advance.

Chuck,

There will be writing on the insulation. The number and color will tell you what circuit it is part of.

The wiring diagram lists a 147b purple for the left work light and 147d purple for the right work light. Lists a 010h black for the ground. This could be those wires, but I cannot make out the writing on the right or the left wire. Also see if the red one has writing on it because there are lots of red wires.

If you had a test light turn on the lights and see if the wires have power. There is also a listing for a back-up alarm and a trailer tow light package, but I have not been able to track down a wire color. Is your 4310 a power reverser or e-hydro? It lists two diagrams.

It's an epower reverser. As I recall, one wire is purple.
Where is the wiring diagram?

Thanks.

The red wire above the clutch looks like it is marked 362C. Does that help?

The red wire above the clutch is marked 562C. I watched it as it down loaded and could make it out right b-4 it resized. (I could not find a 362C red wire) It is a power lead that is hot any time with the key on, according to the diagram page 124.

The diagrams are in the technical manual. I have the CD version that I bought on eBay. I like it over the paper version and cheaper too!

I have the rear facing aux lights on Rops installed by dealer, If you need I can check mine and tell you which wires they are connected to, I don't know if there needs to have an extra fuse or not.

I was trying to figure out those same spare wires as you when I was looking for an easy way to wire a 12 cigarette lighter type aux outlet. I ended up using a piggy back fuse that shares a fuse slot but has separate fuse. I wanted the aux outlet for a flashing beacon light for plowing, I also have the problem of loader blocking light pattern and may high mount a forward facing light.

This thread may have something in it that's helpful.

Good luck, JB.

How many pages of electrical diagrams are there?
Are they PDF, Can you post a sample?
I was thinking about getting the manual on disc.

The purple wire with the female connector is for the rear work lights, and the black wire with the male connector id the ground. There are two sets of wires for a right and left pair of rear work lights. This is the way my 4200 is.

I have no idea what the red power wire is for.

JB4310, I am too computer illiterate to be able to get a PDF file to attach. There are like 6 pages of diagrams. You should use the red wire by the clutch for power for the 12v for cig lighter!!

All right, enough f***ing around. I got off my rear end and went out and actually looked at my 2004 4310.

The red wire is 562c red which is 12v hot any time with key on.
The left purple is 147b purple which is left work light
The right purple is 147d purple which is rt work light.
The black is the ground

The diagram shows fuse f6 is protecting this circut, which is a 20a fuse located 2nd row down 2nd from the left side.

End result: Hook your lights to the purple and the black on the left and right and hook your cig lighter to the red wire by the clutch

Hope this helps:)

Thanks,
Do you know what fuse protects the red wire by brake pedals?

JB.
