ugh Aerostar; I had one of them, got rid of it quick after trying to put in a set of sparkplugs. Ford should have thought that thru a little better but i guess they were playing catch up to the caravan/yoyager.
Perhaps you haven't tried changing the rear plugs on a Chrysler Motors mini van. If you have, how long did the ones is the rear take?

None of the mini vans were fun to work on. My aunt had a GMC 4.3 mini van. It was AWD and a pain to work on.

I remember having to replace the front end on my Ford Aerostar every 50K. After the second one, I traded it in for a Nissan Sentra, but only because the wife was driving our other van, so I only needed a commuter vehicle, not a hauler.

Now one thing I've used my tractor for a couple of times is pulling a stuck car or truck out of a ditch or snowbank. But where do I hook a tow chain up to a doggone Prius? Only times I've seen any towed is on the back of a tilt bed truck, or with a front wheel sling & trailer.
I loved my Aerostar cargo.. 'til the kid ran it into a pole :(

my chrysler minivan preceded the aerostar and being a 4cyl it was easy to get to everything, maybe i got spoiled.

With the removable towing eye, just like most other modern cars.

I'll be damned. I was almost at the point of digging out the blooming owner's manual.

@bandaidmd Yeah, that one plug required jacking up the engine about 2 inches to get to it.

Don't get me wrong. I liked the Aerostar. But it did have several severe design problems that the engineer in me just found to be totally abominable.

Well, my opinion is that it's a sweet ride. Got a 2011 with about 50k. It has been trouble free. It does love tires.
It is a really good driver. Tons of power.I would not be surprised if we get a second one when this one wears out.

How many sets of tires have you gone through in 50,000 miles?

I ahve a Chevy Monza once with the Buick 3.8l V6.. The passenger side spark plug instructions started with 'Remove right fender..'

Im not sure why its much of an issue. The plugs in my Subaru were changed for the first time at 300K miles. Not that difficult, but who cares? at that change interval.
