Tommy, what they "was thinkin'" was Polaris. I have seen one of the black ones personally and I looked good---clean. About one or two times in the mud and dirt and it would not look quite so good. I really wish that JD would continue to do what JD does. When looking at companies who are successful over many years, as JD has been, they are that way because they stick with their business model and evolve it to the times, rather than going with promotion gimmicks. Sadly, recently JD has felt the need to copy other companies' styles in an attempt to not loose market share. This also has held true with their tractors. JD makes some excellent compact tractors, and I have used many of them. Seemingly though, everytime I go to my dealer I see a new "price point" machine offered by JD to compete with some other company I have never heard of. They frequently lack many features characteristic of JD machines, and in some cases barely would meet safety criteria (i.e., I am convinced the ROPS on the 3030E machines is not compliant). It seems they would be better off by marketing what they do--nice, albeit pricey machines with unique features that do not bow to market fluctuations. Do not sell branded lawnmowers at Lowe's or HD, either. That's what they make Murray's for. I feel the same about the Gators. They should be solid and nice---and yellow. I do not mind the olive drab though. I also did like the nice seats I saw on the new black one. I wish they offered those stock in all models.
