Is the diameter of the Ag tire larger than the Industrial tires? Is the speedometer correct on the grand L series tractors?
(I'm doing that thinking and driving thing again.)

Are you worried about the radars /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

As I remember, the assembly/setup manual mentions an entry to be made electronically to compensate for tire size. Don't know if it discriminates between turf, ag, and industrial tires but that may be reflected in the size designation as well.

And the person with the correct answer is ---JMC!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm not worried about the radar just trying to figure the force of the tractor when I hit a tree! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Your Grand L Operator's Manual tells you how to set the speedometer based on the size of the rear tires. It's an easy adjustment.

Just out of curiosity... what is the point of a speedometer on a tractor??? Honestly. I'm curious? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

For spraying & fertilizing - when you want to control how much material you let out per acre. You need to know your groundspeed.

Thanks! I was really worried about people thinking I was being sarcastic but I really wanted to know! I'd never thought to look for a speedometer on a tractor before.

I would think that even if you didn't have a speedometer, but knew your gearing, you could calculate speed based on RPM and gearing... but that probably only works for gear drive tractors...

Just thinking out loud!

Thanks!
