Speed reducer

yes it requires a C faced motor, some motors are combination motors, in that they have a "c face" and a solid base as well,

they are used on direct coupled items, pumps, gear boxes, and other items that would benefit from a direct coupling,

note: the C face is not one size fits all, it depends on the motor frame size, 42, 48, 56, 142,182, and so on, so make sure
your matched up for compatibility,

also motor RPM fro gear box,

double check shaft types as well, I have seen some pumps with application special shafts, (more important if your using a old pump motor),

If I can find a C face motor and reducer for a fair $$ I may go that route but as of now will be using flex joint couplers . My dealer wants $500 for the reducer so that's not going to happen.
Might be more out there but not sure where to look. Your place Surplus center will cost a large fortune to get the stuff to Canada.
Our cheap place is called Princess Auto . They can only stock so many items and we have to made due.

this place says sales to Canada look at there phone number.

right angle gearbox/gear reducers/gear reduction boxes/worm gear reducers/worm gear box/Mechanical Power Transmission

I am sure there are locations in Canada that do sell them you may need to do some web searching, at least now you have the internet, and things are much more available than pre internet,

I live in a very rural section of the US, and know some about trying to find things, and limited access, to parts and materials, and some times you have to pay some postage. I have bought from Canada and yes have had to pay extra to import it,

Also do not forget eBay and Craig's list type places, other avenues,

So this reducer

This is the manual for it.
What does the vent direction info mean??

Install the vent plug according to the following::

1 Vent plug to be installed at the uppermost position.
2 For all mounting positions where the vent plug is located in a horizontal plane , the vent plug must pointed upwards.
3 For all mounting positions where the vented hole is located in a vertical plane. the vent plug must be pointed toward the center .

Questions?
What is the vert and *** plane mean and where is pointing toward the center of the housing?????.

After reading the manual the output and input shafts can be removed to the other side so it appears the the output shaft should be able to be moved from th8494072.jpge bottom to the top of this one. I did order one of these today.

Plucker nearly all built. Just have the spindle out to a machine shop to make a key way slot for the flex coupler.
