( That's looking great, Spencer, and glad to see you're back after being "missing in action" nearly 7 months. Hope all's going well for you and your family. )

Bird, my wife seems to think I am "missing in action" as well. When I am not gone on the road working I am outside trying to get something done on the barn, house, or property.

I have stopped in to TBN for 15 or 20 minutes here or there over the last 7 months when I get a chance in my hotel room or an airport. There is just too much content here to keep up with on a daily basis for me. It's too addicting and I just don't have that kind of time any more. I used to spend two or three hours easy almost every day just keeping up with everything.

Nice to see you posting again. Going to be doing any traveling in this direction soon? Love to meet for another meal. We've got a bunch of new places out in the area where we met before.

Anytime buddy! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif )

Golfgar4, Yes I am going to be in your area again soon (see attached map). Send me your contact info again in a PM so I can keep you posted in the coming weeks. So are you close to retiring yet? Are you close to getting a tractor yet? I've aquired something that you would probably appreciate. It's a 1997 48-volt Club Car. It has a canopy, lights, and has been customized with a lift kit/knobby tires, rear seat that folds down into a platform, and a nice radio. I'll attach a picture in the next post.

Re: Spencer\'s Pole Barn Project

Here is a picture of the Club Car.

Edit here:
I forgot to mention it has a kind of metal flake paint job that looks pretty neat in the sun.

( Barn is looking good Spencer! I don't know anything about Michana Building Supply but it must be right around the corner from me. If you want, I could probably stop by one evening. Also, if you're down here for any reason be sure to let me know. Would love to meet you /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )

RobS, it turns out that Michiana Building Supply is just a middle man. They get their products from the same place that my local lumber yard does up in Big Rapids.

How far are you away from 31/196? I drive through there all the time. Maybe we could get together for a meal on one of my trips.

Re: Spencer\'s Pole Barn Project

Great job, Spencer!

BTW, is there a way to post multiple pics in one post rather than having to post each one separately?

Re: Spencer\'s Pole Barn Project

Back to the concrete again. The crew came back on Monday to do the two pours outside of the barn. This picture shows the 4'x32' section outside of bigger 24'x32' section that they poured on Saturday. This 4' section is on the front of the barn where I will have three garage doors (10'x10', 9'x10', 9'x10'). I will not be using any of these three bays for parking vehicles on a daily basis, they will be more for storage and for my work van. Even though this 4' section of concrete is not that large, it will be better than having nothig in front of the doors. This section has a 1" slope in 4' and starts out about 3/8" lower than the main 24'x32' section.

Re: Spencer\'s Pole Barn Project

Here is a picture of them doing the 16'x32' appoach on the other side of the barn. This is the part of the barn that I will be using on a daily basis. I will be parking inside this 10'x10' door and it will also be the main entrance to the "shop area" of the barn.

Re: Spencer\'s Pole Barn Project

Here they are using some sort of large float on the the approach. I forget the particular name that they called it.

Re: Spencer\'s Pole Barn Project

I wanted a "broom finish" on these outside pours so that they won't get too slippery when they are wet/icy. Here is a picture of them putting the broom finish on the approach.
