Spider

Anyone know what kind of spider this is? It had built a web on my front porch between the porch light and the front door. From top leg to bottom leg it was about 3 plus inches. The siding behind it is 4". The main body was larger than my thumb.

Those are called Orb spiders, very common.

Those are cool, catch a small grasshopper and throw it into the web and watch the spider wrap it up with web.

Thanks, I've been searching the web and found they are Orb or garden spiders (argiope). Just never saw one that large before. I attached pics of the ones I found on the web and they look the same.
