Splitter Valve Question

   / Splitter Valve Question #12
A two way, pressure release detent valve is what you want, but JJ is right, the model LS3010-2 is not listed in the Prince catalog or manual. It could be its a special made only for Northern. I suggest you call Northern or Prince to verify the valve is actually what you want.

Re: Log Splitter Valve Question

No, you are looking for the Prince auto log splitter valve.

Surplus Center - 1 SPOOL PRINCE AUTO CYCLE LOG SPLITTER VALVE W/PB

Actually the valve you posted will detent and split one way, and stay extended and return lever to neutral, waiting for the next log, and then you have to pull the lever the other way for the return split, and when finished lever will return to neutral, and rod will be fully retracted.

The valve you posted is much cheaper, and requires one more action over the auto valve.

Autovalve.

After setting the two levers for the auto valve, the wedge will extend split and retract split, and the lever will return to neutral.

If you are slow, you will have to play catch up or reduce the GPM's to match up with your ability.

Just a note Surplus center does not carry the power beyond plug for this valve. i.e if you want the flexibility in the future and want to plug it for now.
The Prince P/N for the plug for that valve is 660312003. I ordered the valve from Surplus but had to get the plug elsewhere. Surplus said they could order it but they never got back to me.

Don't need PB. This is strickly a splitter valve..

Re: Log Splitter Valve Question

Although it is a splitter valve and may have PB, , where is the flow going after the log splitter? If no PB, where is the OUT port flow going?

If splitter valve has no PB, you could run the tank/OUT port to tank. If the splitter has PB, then you would run the PB to the 3pt circuit, and out port to tank. The less back flow you have the better.
