worked on a alt stabilizer bracket. oem setup was obviously a gen.. and I had to play with brackets to get a alt wedged in.. wasn't ideal.. so added this for now..

here's the bracket, in the rough. this is with it test fit, no grinding or finish work has been done at this point. I literally cut, welded, torched and beato on it.. tdipped it in a water barel to cool, then slid on and added bolts and nuts to check fit.. then rain caught me.

will pull it off, gring, prime and paint.

Ah, brackets--fabricating those things can slow work down a lot. I just replaced the engine on my Bolens GT1453 garden tractor. Had to cut, drill and weld a new engine mount, fabricate new mount/brackets for the battery, and make a new handle with spring release to raise and lower the rototiller.

Super result:thumbsup:
I like the looks of that alternator bracket. I'll use that design for future restorations with your permission.

Got the engine out of the 1948 Farmall Cub today.

The black air cleaner and stack looks surprisingly good on there.

Let's see. I have a Rigid floor type drill press with some good Milwaukee drill bits, a Ryobi 4-1/2" angle grinder and a Hobart Stickmate LX AC/DC welder. Can't get very elegant with that selection of tools but I'll try my best:eek:.

here's one after a victory drive around the pasture.

re adjusted the steering.. had it too tight before.

found she likes to warm up and idle for a minute or so before doing much.. after that she's game.. :)
