why didnt you just cut the stud flat with the plate and drill a hole and use a bolt with a nut on the bottom?
No access to get the stud out without butchering the adjustable seat slide. Wasn't worth taking that chance

Clemson - Thanks for the request because I took it apart again for some pictures and I learned something....so here goes.

First Picture shows the slide bracket with the new spring installed and the two pressed in studs that bolt to the seat bracket


This is a shot of those pressed in studs which is identical to the one for the rubber cushions:


This is a shot looking down the slide - sorry out of focus but you can see the the stud under the spring and in the two piece rail. Without taking apart the rail you cannot get to this stud.


This shot shows the stud and the tang that I believe holds the two piece slide together. I believe if I bent this tang a bit I could take the slide apart (it hits another tab within the slide and stops its movement) and then I could have drilled out the stud if need be. Obviously I didn't because I reused the original.
