Springtime in Texas!

Bill, you had me concerned with the first picture. The photo's edge did not show the back end of the mowing deck. I'm glad to see by your later post that there wasn't a level path behind the deck.

Believe me, I got in enough trouble just driving Larry out into the field! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Momma was not happy. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Bill, I just saw your pictures and your paintbrush is super. Did you get some of that heavy weather and hail last night? I was hoping for some rain this weekend, but the storms went north and south of me. We hardly got a sprinkle, but DFW got heavy rains and hail. I hope your paintbrush didn't get beat up. I checked my bluebonnets today and they are just starting to bloom. We are about two weeks behind you. ...and I did notice the nice paint color matching. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Jinman,

Just left Keller Texas Saturday around 3:00pm. Got out of there just before the storm. We were down there getting my son's junk out of college. He can't store the stuff over the summer.

Anyway tell me what the trees are down there with all of the blue/purple flowers on them. There is also blue flowers in the fields. My wife would like to know what they are. She really liked them. Nothing I have seen around here in Minnesota.

If they looked something like this they are bluebonnets, for which Texas is famous. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Murph, I'm sure you saw the wisteria vines. They have purple/blue flowers that look like bunches of grapes (see attachment). They are in full bloom right now. They grow on long vines like grapes and are common throughout the south. Also, the redbud trees have purplish blooms, but if you look at Wrought Iron Harv's post earlier in this thread, you will see one of those.

Keller? College? I thought the only thing in Keller was lots of "old style" buildings with Austin stone and brick. I'm curious about which college your son is in? TCU? NTSU?

Thanks for the information. I will pass that on to my wife. The college my son is in is actually in Longview. It is Letourneau College. We went there to get his stuff as he couldn't keep it there over the summer. Then we went to my sister n laws in Keller. So we kind of killed two birds with one stone.

Jinman,

My tractor lives at my in-law's place near Marble Falls, about 2 miles as the crow flies or 6 miles by road from our property, and the paintbrush is in their yard. I don't think they've had any weather down there. In fact, we didn't have any hail or rain from the Saturday night storms here in Garland.

I've attached a picture that shows how I get Larry back and forth from the shed to the ridge. If all the neighbors didn't mind and would open their gates, I would just drive him the 2 miles. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
