I mentioned guards to the parts lady. She didn't offer any.

Those light assemblies are $48. I haven't studied my old one I took off to see if there's another way of jury rigging them to hold on more securely where they were. Think I'll just stick with leaving them on the inside. Now if I was a Redneck, I'd probably just whip out the ole duct tape.

Hello all,

I have my lights inside the ROPS. It's working OK for me right now. Here's a picture of what it looks like:

Now I'm getting a 46 hoe installed in the next few weeks and I'm realy wondering if the lights inside the ROPS will cause interference with the hoe... Anyone has a 46 hoe with lights inside the ROPS?

Hypernix,

My lights are still outside the ROPS...I don't have my 46 BH on at the moment but there 'might' be an issue with your body (shoulders, arms) hitting the inside mounted lights. When using the BH you flip the tractor seat forward and fold the BH seat down into it's place. My shoulders, are close to in-line with ROPS. I might be re-attaching the BH this weekend, if I do I'll post some pics if no one else has in the meantime.

I have the GM on, servicing. I hope to finish and get the FEL and 46 BH back on this afternoon, before this weekend's rain. If so, I'll try to post a pic showing ROPS, seats, clearance. My gut tells me that (on the 4115) I'd be smacking my elbows, at least, if the lights were on the inside and a 46 attached.

Sure, now I'll have to wash it to or get grief for all the dirt. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Here's what the elbow room looks like from a 46BH inside the ROPS on a 4115. I think you may want to "re-think" putting the lights inside the ROPS.

Tom

PS: Never did get it washed this evening /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Tom,

Thanks for the picture! Yeah you are right it sure looks like it will get cramped a little I guess if I leave those lights inside the ROPS. Although it does look like they are just about under your elbows, maybe the lights could be used as arm rests??? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hypernix,

You're welcome.

Hmmm, padded ROPS lights, great concept! ...And, saves on purchasing those expensive replacement seats w/ armrests. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It may not be germane, however, for the JD4200 there is a set of guards for the lights. They are called a ROPS Brush Guard Kit under stock number LVB25016. It might be worthwhile checking the application codes to see if this kit is applicable or if there is a similarly named kit that is applicable to your tractor. They mount to the existing holes and require no drilling or light relocation.
