Starter problem

I replaced mine with the same symptoms. The starter was bad.

As a non mechanical dude, I found the replacement refreshingly easy.

However, about a month later the carberator needed replacement. That's when I traded up to a compact tractor.

The whole dang problem turned out to be a bad battery, of all things. I made the wrong assumption that the starter was bad because my 50 amp booster would not start the mower. I think my booster is way worn out. I did get the educational experience of tearing the starter apart, cleaning the brush contact area and wrestling it back together (what a pain)./w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif After a while I got smart and hooked my RV battery up and whaddyaknow, it fired right up. $21.99 spent at Sears later, the rider is back in business and the walk-behind is back in the shed where it belongs. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif Sometimes the stupid alarm goes off and I just don't hear it. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif
