SF is still popular... the only time I venture in is when I have visitors... the younger they are the more they love the city...

A view is something you often really can't fully appreciate until you lose it... and there are some postcard perfect views of SF from the Oakland and Berkeley hills...

In Washington... my view is nature... wooded and serene...

The joke for years was "You should have been here yesterday... spectacular view of Mount Ranier.

I had been there many times and never had a spectacular or any view of Mount Ranier... then one day... their is was... not from my property because I have many trees.

My best friend moved out there in the late '80s. He only stayed about 6 months, but he only saw Ranier once. His reaction was the same ... walked outside one day and "Huh, there's Mt. Ranier!" ... then never saw it again.

CatFever,
Just wondering if radon is an issue in your area? It is in upstate NY and it looks like I need to install a mitigation system to vent air from under the basement slab out through a chimney to over the roof line. It would be a whole lot easier to install that system during a build than trying to retrofit it in later.
As if you don’t have enough to think about right now!

Not really sure about Radon issues, I'll do some checking on that. Thanks...

After footings/foundation are done it will move quick. As long as it's dried in before snow/freezing temps it'll be fine. Just guessing but I'd say first part of October we could see snow.

Footings are done and foundation is being poured today around noon.

Not much of a crew when you have that pumper truck doing most of the work!!!!!

That's for sure. I do think the footing guy should have had at least one helper. He worked his butt off.

What a great vista Lynn!
Every time I'm out near the Rockies I'm blown away by the scale of things having an "eastern" point of reference. That high peak in center of your 2nd pic,
I'll take a wild guess it's well over 30 miles away???
I remember heading west through MT on 80? Riding shotgun, I saw a small "black stripe" way off in the valley. After watching it grow for over an hour it turned into a 153 coal train. Then there's my UT elk hunt story.......
