Now my wife and I can stand where the great room will be and visualize the view from inside the house. Although we'll be several feet higher.
I catch Terry standing in our living room location looking out what will be our front window often.

Probably the only reason that I would consider moving would be to have a view like that. It's tempting, and might even happen when we retire, but for now, it's just a dream.

People have often asked why Mom is so attached to her home of 50 years... besides good neighbors and the fruit trees she planted... it is the view... the kind that makes you just stopped... day or night to take it all in.
Say what you will about San Francisco but it sure does make for a pretty city lights view with the 5 bridges when viewed from the East Bay side...
When I travel it is something I notice otherwise 4 walls are just 4 walls...

I love it too, but am not that fond of snow.....unless I had a snow mobile like cat has. That would maybe help me put up with it for an extra 3 or 4 days.

Update;
Footings are being poured today around 10:00am. The foundation guys are a week or two out. So my builder being the smart guy he is said, would cash get you there any sooner? ......Foundation is going in this week also!!

I agree about SF being a beautiful place.....to visit. I would not want to live there.
One time two of my co-workers and I went to "Street Vibrations" in Reno for a bike ride. (Harley) We thought what the heck we're only a few hours from SF. We ate lunch on the worf. (spelling?) I called my wife while eating...she was a little PO'ed that I went there without her.

Never thought I'd ever want to go to SF, but visited a few times on business trips, and i did enjoy my visits, like driving the golden gate bridge, lombard st, seeing the cable cars and eating in chinatown.
