Without actually stepping out those doors it is hard to say if there is a trip hazard. They look fairly normal to me step down wise. Most of my houses have had a step down of the same height, just no short step there. It would only possibly be an issue to visitors, not looking down. Living in the house it will be second nature. Looks fine to me. Good news about being dried in.

Covered areas here have a full size landing... mostly slightly below grade but 1 step is allowed for non covered.
Only older homes that are Grandfathered have a short step outside the door and then only secondary doors.
One of the features high sought after is on grade access from garage to living space... makes it a breeze for wheel chairs...
I have owned several these where the only difference in height is a thin threshold to cover the seam of the inside finish floor to garage concrete...
It is my experience that on-grade, or near, is desirable. I recall a max height distance of about 4" being code somewhere. It would be unfortunate (maybe risky) is guests were prone to slipping.
The tapers are still plugging away, difficult thing now is keeping it warm. The siding and soffit/fascia is not done so there is no insulation in the attic yet. I have my "Buddy heater" in the garage just to keep it above freezing. The furnace is maintaining 65 degrees in the house no problem but obviously running a lot. Hopefully they will be done by Friday with all the taping. I'm very anxious to get all the exterior done so we can finish the insulation.

^^^ Home for the Holidays is the theme I am seeing here.
Amazing how you have put it all together and beat the snow...
The tapers are done. (actually Friday) I am impressed with the work they did! The finish wood work should start today. Cabinet guy got all his final measurements. The siding should show up this week, not sure when it will be installed but I hope this week.
No paint yet, I ask the builder about it/why. The painter is also the one doing the staining and finish on the wood trim, he wants all the trim done and he'll tape off what needs to be taped. Seems like more work to me, but, whatever floats his boat!
