May or may not be the case but the lower range gear you put it in the harder it will be to push. Put the range shift in a high gear or neautral to push. :thumbsup:

any chance it will start while pushing it in gear, i would like to move it out of the yard to check the bearings? If so should I disconnect the injectors, I can't see where that would hurt since it don't run anyways?

I'm confused. Why would you want to push it while in gear, but not have it start? If you are trying to move it from the yard to the work area, wouldn't it be better to roll it in neutral?

If the throttle is on the off position, it won't start. The 2210 has a driven pump to engage the Powershift box, too, and disconnects the wheels from the motor when the engine is not running.


If the head is off still, compare the depths of the pistons at the top of their strokes. If they are different, you know you have a bent rod, which may also account for the tightness.

Maybe I wasn't very clear about the range shift. You would have the tractor transmission in neutral, and then the range shift in a higher range to push. Reason being you turn some of these gears when pushing even though the transmission is in neutral. The higher the range gear the easier the push.

I dont think you can push start a powershift trans? I know you can on a normal gear trans.

I also was thinking a bent rod maybe?

I forgot to mention this: I have heard others (specifically, California) mention, and it has been my experience, too, that the Powershift machines do not roll easily, even in neutral. I'm not sure why, but my 186D does not roll as easily as the similarly sized, but gear driven, 1401D. So you might not have a brake issue at all.

My YM186d with a power shift has a big sticker that says "do not tow, it will damage the trany."

Agree 120%, i can push the 1500 way easier than i can the YM14, and the 1500 is on ricers and weighs twice as much!

My YM2210 (Powershift) is harder to push than my YM1700 (normal geared), but it's not a big difference. I can easily push either by myself, at least when they are on a flat hard surface. I haven't tried pushing either one around the yard.
