Yes, that was me. I think it is working fine. It's mostly downwind from the prevailing wind. I have not seen any issues and it is very convenient as well as cheap and easy. It is enclosed on three sides and the open side faces NWN. See attachment.

I'm having a problem opening this attachment? what am I doing wrong?
:(

and as far as storage, how about one of those big double car-ports, they are all over around here and I have 2 that I love

Thanks, now it worked for me.
For attachment storage, I was thinking about big shelves like in Lowe's etc. and maybe stacking 3 or more, the one that would kill me is my boom pole, it has to be stored at 45 degrees or I can't pick it up and with a ten and a half foot boom, it eats up some room

I thought about running a chain down through the middle of the open side. You could run it through the attachment quick attach plates or at least put a pad lock through the holes in the plate. We really don't have a theft problem here and who would want a PT attachment. It's a very small market.
My particular location seems to be pretty secure, no sidewalks or ways for anyone to loiter around my property with out coming thorough the back end of our woods at night which would be an extremely long hike and would require a 4 wheeler of some sort to carry anything out.

In this area we have many welding wizards that would think nothing of doing a little converting of a good bucket / forks or other attachments to their tractors.

In any case I have the LMB on my list soon. Even though I only need to take out a few pins to unplug my new made grapple setup. I like the idea and convenience of just leaving it on the bucket and buying the over due larger bucket for using around the yard. So some sort of short term storage system like yours may be in order before winter.

Or at least until I can build the larger building. My shed sets on a nice thick cement block not sure if I want to tear down the existing shed and build a new one, add to it or just move the whole thing further back in the woods to open up my yard a little more. Then use the existing cement block for constructing a small patio. Decisions decisions.

I guess so, mine is only 5 ft and a pain to stand up in the shed. I can't imagine trying to store a 10 and 1/2 foot.

I made a junky stand so I can roll it around from used, bent fence pipes and welded 3 wheels under it and it works ok for now, I will try and attach a picture of it for you, yes, it's a life saver at times but eats lots of space.

Ever since someone posted a slick stacking storage arrangement, I've been thinking about this as well, since we don't have much horizontal land here. That's why we bought the PT in the first place.

Not to push a particular vendor, but Northern tool has some nice 36" steel wire mesh shelves and racks and the Costco/Lowe's version at 42" rack and shelf that holds 5000lbs per shelf, 12 feet high, 42" deep. The frame runs about $120 per vertical(i.e. 2 to start with), plus $40 per shelf, plus decking. I think that for many attachments, you wouldn't want mesh shelves, just the rack, or a pallet fastened to the rack.

All the best,

Peter

Here in LA there are companies that buy out other companies supplies when they go under. It is amazing how many new companies insist on new shelving. So, if you look around in any minor city I am sure you will find companies that do this kind of salvage work. We have at least 10 large metal palet shelves we picked up for less than $200 at our local repo place. I would say look for a used office furniture store...
