Tractor
Ford 445 and Belarus 250
Hi, I am living in northern British Columbia on acreage along the Skeena River. I am living with my mom (86 years) providing assistance so she can stay living in her own home. My dad recently died and left two tractors for me to learn to operate and maintain - an industrial 1979 Ford 445 with front bucket and back grader, chains on rear tires - I use for winter snowplowing a long driveway and around the house and outbuildings, as well as some lifting of logs and firewood on the property. The other tractor is a smaller Belarus - at first I was completely at odds with this one because I couldn't start it or change gears. Now I have figured it out and love using it for rototilling and brush cutting. It doesn't have powersteering, 4 wheel drive or chains on tires. I am just learning the basics for both tractors - how to keep them lubricated with oil and grease, and how to operate them effectively. So far so good. More complicated maintenance problems are arising and I am hoping the forums will be a source of info, advice and support. Thanks, Ramona Scott
