I happened to have the left foot plate off today. When I saw the end of that steering cylinder, I wondered both why PT didn't tell me to lubricate it and why I hadn't thought to /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.
The foot plate is raised about three inches off the bottom with spacers that look a lot like pipes. And long carriage bolts hold it on through the spacers.
I didn't take the other side off. I found what I was looking for and didn't have to. I seemed to have been under the impression that I had two steering cylinders, but my book says I only have one. I'll check tomorrow. I was looking under there for another reason, for which I'll start a new thread.
