I have a new holland t5040. The steering isn't working properly. When first started it doesn't steer as it should and at times will not steer at all. It gives a steering code and warning to stop at this point. After warming up for a few minutes the steering gets better and stops giving the code, but still not what it should be.

I am just going to throw ouit some general ideas since I know nothing about your tractor. Does it have a seperate PS resivour. Is it full. Does it have a PS filter. Does it have a seperate power steering pump. Could a suction hose be colapsing when the oil is cold. You need to give a better discription of the problem Does it steer hard, does the steering wheel just spin, does it make noise.

You might want to find out what the code means. BTW if no one on the site knows what code you are looking at, they can not help you with problem.
