I have a new tc34da and am looking for a spinning steering wheel knob that will fit the wheel. Any recomendations or "stay away from" brands would be appreciated.

I wasn't aware steering wheel knobs had brands. :) I just picked one up at the counter at my local outdoor equipment dealer.

Tracotor Supply has a couple different styles with colors to match your brand of tractor. They even had them in Power Trac green (most people confuse that with that other green brand of tractor;) ). I bought mine about 4 years ago. I think it was $10.00. It works great.

are these things legal for cars?

They work really well. Just make sure it fits without ruining the steering wheel cover material. You might have to bend it a bit to keep this from happening. It is really handy, especially for mowing yards. As was stated, you can buy them from TSC. John Deere usually have them in their dealerships around here, in case anyone has a JD.

Unless you were missing one arm, can't imagine why you would want one in a modern car.

I'm talking a steering wheel "spinner" on my tractor.

Actually, I have two. Somehow with just one, it seemed to crawl all over the steering wheel and never stay under my hand.... seems that the link between the front wheels and the steering wheel is not exactly 100%.

Thus, I mounted two and am very much more pleased with the result... wouldn't be without a spinner under my hand when on my tractor.

I purchased mine at Advance Auto Parts for right at $10 each as I recall, pretty pricey...They are kinda hard to find. There were bunches with dead heads, etc. on them and one plain...except that it has a push button in the middle for folding the spinner over out of the way. I considered this a good idea but after using it for over a year, I wouldn't buy that kind again. Reasons.... The spinner feels loosey-goosey under the hand, it's easy to hit the button and fold it unintentionally, and I had one completely come apart after about 3 hours of use. Advance gave me a free replacement but was a hassle and I consider it a design flaw...expect the others to come apart also one of these days.

Then, I discovered that Harbor Freight Tools has them... $3 I think... simple, maybe not in your favorite color, but I think they would work... that's where I'll get my next one.

There was another thread that discussed spinners... one fellow was having trouble getting his mounted on the steering wheel..... seems the wheel was too large for the spinner...just a warning, make sure your spinner will fit onto the wheel.

And I remember when they were called "suicide knobs" in the days when power steering was a rare thing.
