Steering Wheel knob-recomendations?

just like everything else in life you get what you pay for. I had a 3.00 spinner given to me it was junk. felt wobbly,scraped the skin off your nuckles because of the sharp,"chromed" plastic. Then I bought a 10.00 one from TSC I cant imagine driving the tractor without it.

I have a tsc 'blue' one from tsc.. works fine..

Spinner will not stay in same position because wheels are turned via hydrailic lines; not hard linkked.

Makes little difference.. Many of the orbit valves will permit you to slowly re-orient the steering wheel without turning the wheels if you turn it slow enough and are carefull.. so that you can get the spinner where you want it.. etc.

I have been using a spinner for several years and never thought there was anything more to it. But leave it to you guys... I have learned a lot more on a subject I didn't think had any more! And, as others have said I wouldn't be without one. It was the first mod I did on my new TC40DA. It's my poor man's version of "super steer"

I got a spinner fom Harbor Freight. Works well and has not broken yet in the past 6 months.

Yep Bird, that's what I know them as. When I was 15 and bought my first car (49 Ford 2dr), I had a suicide knob with a naked lady under glass on the top of it. I loved that thing!!!! Think I ordered it from JC Whitney.

A few years ago I bought a Jeep Grand Wagoneer, the fullsized model with wood paneling on the sides. My boys bought me a naked lady suicide knob for it because they thought it looked so antique!!!

I too remember the bombshell gals they used to have in those knobs. Women's Lib, they just won't let a guy appreciate anything anymore. For you folks thinking about putting one on an 8N or the older tractors without power steering, don't do it. Fastest way to break a hand or thumb I can think of.
