What a mess!

The pad for our house is in the middle of the picture toward the rear of the picture and in front of the house next door. The operator was able to get this smoother than the surrounding area because he used clay from the bottom of the pond. He used his laser to level the pad. The deep tracks in the gumbo mud kinda give you an idea how much more work still has to be done to get the whole lot leveled out. Too bad the ground was not dry... the tractor and scraper would have been able to smooth this mess out just fine.

Sure hope your able to smooth out the site before your rainy season arrives.

30% chance of rain on Sunday but clear after that through the next weekend. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Rain would be a bad thing if it comes before I finish the pond.

We want to put fish in the pond later on so the next step is to get a dozer over to deepen the pond and maybe add some contour to the bottom. The levee also needs to be smoothed out and shaped a little. While he is there I need him to smooth the driveway so that I can put down some gravel or crushed concrete. The driveway must be completed before the builder is ready to start construction on our new home, which won't be for another six weeks. The rest of the dirt is not critical to clean up and smooth out right now. I can work on that along the way with my tractor.
