Stieger was one of the first commercially successful high horsepower 4wd's. They used "off-the-shelf" components in the drivetrain to simplify production and hold down cost. (components for over-the-road trucks, off-road trucks, and construction equipment) The "assembled components" construction concept made them a breeze to work on. At different points through their history, Stieger built 4wds for several "big names" like Ford, IH, and others. Case/IH (now Case New Holland) bought Stieger. You'll find the STIEGER nameplate still on todays Case/New Holland 4WDs
