Great pics, I especially like the one of the two of you! You guys clean up pretty well for all the hard work you do /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here's a shot of white trillium I got the other day /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

And a Baltimore Oriole. Birds and cameras are a great combination. If life ever slows down for you guys, there are lots of great nature photo classes offered locally or nationally. Fun stuff for sure /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( ??? Butterfly

This is a totally new area for us. We don't know a thing about them other than the basics. Catapiller, cacoon, butterfly. That's about it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anybody know what this one is called?

Tiger swallowtail...

BTW, only moth larva (i.e. caterpillars) make cocoons. Butterflies go into a hard-shelled chrysalis....

As they mature inside the chrysalis, it will become transparent just before they come out, and you'll be able to see them inside it. Pretty neat stuff!

BTW, if you have milkweed on your place, keep an eye on it, since Monarch butterfly larva eat only milkweed. I caught a bunch of the caterpillars when I was in Jr High and fed them milkweed leaves in a cage I made, then watched them go through the chrysalis stage...

Good choice on the camera -- I love my older Canon Powershot, and have been eying an S2IS myself....

Re: Steph\'s Nature Pics

Good pictures Eddie,
I've been thinking about the same camera for some time. One question about it though. Is there a noticeable delay from the time you click the button to take the picture and when the picture is actually taken. I saw the camera at Wal Mart online for about $360 but the card was extra. I may have to jump in and buy one from beachcamera.com. You say Steph was pretty happy with the service from them?
Have you taken any videos yet? Just curious how well it takes those.
